What is the design process of PCB Circuit Board?

Publish Time: 2024-06-04
The design process of PCB Circuit Board is a complex and delicate process, which covers multiple stages from conceptual design to final product manufacturing. The following is a detailed overview of the design process of PCB Circuit Board:

Preliminary preparation:

Component library and schematic preparation: Before starting PCB design, you must first prepare the component library of the schematic SCH and the component library of the PCB. These libraries usually contain detailed information about the various electronic components required on the circuit board, such as size, pin definition, etc.

Schematic design: After preparing the component library, design the schematic. The schematic is a diagram that shows the connection relationship between the various components on the circuit board.

PCB structure design:

Draw the PCB board surface in the PCB design environment based on the determined circuit board size and various mechanical positioning.

Place the required connectors, buttons/switches, screw holes, assembly holes, etc., and fully consider and determine the wiring area and non-wiring area.

PCB layout:

In the layout stage, after ensuring that the schematic is correct, start placing devices on the board. This is usually achieved by generating a network table on the schematic and importing the network table on the PCB diagram.

The principles of layout include reasonable partitioning according to electrical performance (such as digital circuit area, analog circuit area, power drive area, etc.), and circuits that complete the same function should be placed as close as possible, while considering the installation position and strength of components, as well as the isolation of heating components and temperature-sensitive components.

Wiring:

After completing the layout, wiring design is performed. Wiring is a conductive path connecting various components, and it is necessary to ensure the correctness and stability of the circuit.

During the wiring process, it is necessary to avoid problems such as crossover and short circuit, and minimize the length and resistance of the wire as much as possible.

Wiring optimization and silk screen:

After the wiring is completed, wiring optimization is performed to ensure the performance and reliability of the circuit board.

Silk screen is added as needed to identify components and connection relationships on the circuit board.

Network and DRC check:

Perform network and DRC (design rule check) checks to ensure the correctness and consistency of the circuit board.

Structural check:

Perform a final check on the structure of the circuit board to ensure that it meets the design requirements.

Output PCB board:

Output the final PCB board file for manufacturing and production.
